One nominally CR 15 baddie killed, settled on effective CR 16 with the ambush; 1688 XP each for Kibin, Kaylin, Jason, and Elorin. 5000 2 HD human Zombies died in a burning building - no xp for anybody. They were more flavor than anything else, really. One CR 9 trap defeated: 113 XP each for Jason, Kibin, Derrel, Kaylin, and Elorin. One Ghost (Jason) vanished mysteriously. One Wizardess (Kaylin) dropped dead for no apparent reason. One CR 5 trap defeated: No XP. Three books and a scroll of True Ressurection found inside a chest (also a pile of meaningless books, but nobody cares about them....); scroll successfully used by Elorin, waiting on Violist's response to see if Kaylin is willing to return. Total: 1801 XP each for Jason, Kaylin, Elorin, and Kibin; 113 Xp for Derrel. Nobody voted on Best Roleplayer. 1000 xp or more, gone to waste. Oh well, who roleplayed best this week? Log attached. |
Re: OT: Narf has gone looney and wants to GM.
Oh, and did everyone enjoy the session?
Edit: Oh, and Narf - if I'm remembering events correctly, Derrel Should be at 117326 XP; another fight or two until next level. |
Re: OT: Narf has gone looney and wants to GM.
I enjoyed it, aside from a mysterious computer slow-down right at the end. Slowed to unusable... gotta get me a new one soon.
*yawn* A bit more caffeine is necessary before I become a zombie myself. CG, eh? Coming back would be fun. Probably going to be pretty snarky though http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif For roleplaying, I vote Kibin. |
Re: OT: Narf has gone looney and wants to GM.
That form of issue doesn't imply that a new machine is necessarily the solution; a little memory leak somewhere can cause that kind of thing, as can network traffic - a new computer with the same programs will often have the same problem (for a memory leak, commonly at a greater run-time, due to more recources to lose; for a network traffic issue, a new machine will likely have no effect whatsoever). Sometimes it's just registry clutter; a new machine would fix that, but so would offloading all files you wish to keep, wiping the machine, restoring to factory settings, then re-installing everything. Also, with a new machine, you'd have to re-install most everything anyway....
I suppose much of it depends on money vs. time..... So Kaylin's back in the game; good. Also, good to know you enjoyed it. Roleplaying votes so far: Kibin: 1 (Violist) |
Re: OT: Narf has gone looney and wants to GM.
That's a good point, however, I'm getting inclined to believe that a significant portion is age, this computer is about 6 years old and, being a laptop, been dropped a few times... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...es/redface.gif
I gotta fix this thing up anyways, been meaning to sort out the registry and defrag the HD and archive the stuff I never use... that's on the to-do list along with taking the Trans-Siberia railway and swimming across the English Channel... Edit: Ahh, so the intestine thing was a Mohrg... pity I didn't have that knowledge IC, I'd have been able to make a joke about it not returning books to the library... Jeez, that thing is creepy. Hmm, Shadow Evocation is quite a useful spell to a sorceror... might be worth picking up. |
Re: OT: Narf has gone looney and wants to GM.
Improved it a bit - gave it the Elite stat array, more HD.... changed a single DC up a bit.... and of course an undead serial killer would be creepy. Makes a perfect villian for Dead Week, no?
Oh, and that trick doesn't work so well against intelligent opponents - Zombies can't understand the warning that what's about to come is an illusion, so don't get the +4 bonus to the Will Disbelief that the party had; a bunch of goblins, on the other had, would have assuming the language was on their list, of course (but for Derrel's sake, Jason pretty much always has to use Common). Mind you, the ability to randomly select one of about a dozen spells you don't know is handy.... |
Re: OT: Narf has gone looney and wants to GM.
Sorry for waiting so long to post this, but I've got a late birthday celebration planned for tomorrow. Also, from next week until January I will be at home for the holidays, and I doubt my parents would agree to let me monopolize their computer to play D&D for as long as our sessions usually take. I think it's about time to put this campaign on hold for the holidays.
