If your doing the exact same thing why not just join the WP and we can all be neutral together?

Hmmm, I can't keep trade partners for the life of me.

I have 3 openings available if anyone wants Coal/Gems.

Atrocities September 10th, 2007 01:58 PM

Re: OT: Cyber Nation

Because we formed OCS. We are a bit more involved with the game and wanted an alliance of our own that reflects that interest.

We have our own forums, our own flag, help files, allies, and skill sets. We offer players more than just basic level log in and check your nation once a day dogma.

You have the WP but what else do you have? None of your members really take advantage of their resources, hardly any have grown. Look at my nation compared to most members of the WP, we all started around the same time yet I am considerably larger than they. I want to offer people the chance to grow and grow well. Or if they want to just play one as usual then they have the freedom to do so knowing that they have more than one nation watching their backs.

I owe you much CW, you got me into the game and you have built a stable alliance. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif Now I want to do what you did and build up a new alliance.

It's extremely difficult to get a good trading system going if you don't belong to a large alliance...finding and keeping trading partners is hell. I've been relatively lucky, 6 bonus resources, and growing fairly fast now http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif

Do keep me apprised of WWIV, I don't care to look at the CN forums, but would appreciate the abridged version if it isn't too much trouble http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Yeah I could improve things by actually taking a government/religion the people want, but I'm not interested in a game telling me what choices to make. I decided what I wanted my country to be and I'm not being forced to compromise.

as for resources, I can't be bothered. Anyway I can never bring myself to abandon anyone willing to trade with me just beacuse I'm greedy.

Re: OT: Cyber Nation

I've already explained this once in a PM to someone else. Maybe it will save me some hassle to post it publically.

I do not take well to unsolicited advice. Especially when it makes assumptions about what my goals are, or should be, or I don't trust the motivation behind the advice.

I should pay more attention when my instincts tell me I ought to avoid looking at public forums until my mood improves. I've been under an unusual amount of real world stress, and this was the fourth time in three weeks that I've been tempted to flame someone. I was a little surprised that CW didn't call you out for ignoring his recent request not to use this thread to try to recruit people away from WP. (Although checking back, I see that he said that over three weeks ago, so I suppose people could have missed it or forgotten it by now.)

Randallw September 12th, 2007 09:49 AM

Re: OT: Cyber Nation

On an unrelated topic, I am a bit relieved to hear you say that. I'm still a bit ashamed of the message I sent you a few months back when I too was under stress. It wasn't personal I know but it did teach me to perhaps sleep on things before I answer straight away. Anyhow I just thought I'd mention that.

Edit: hey and let me just say we think alike http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif I am also a bit wary of advice from players in games where they might be an enemy. I had one game where I refused to lsiten to advice another player gave the group on the basis that he was an enemy. Later I read it, and followed some of it, after my alliance told me to.

Atrocities September 12th, 2007 12:19 PM

Re: OT: Cyber Nation

My Two Cents

If people don't want advise they have the choice to not read peoples advice posts. I for one found them very helpful and thank those who offered valid advice about how to play the game. Again, if people don't want free advice, thats their call, but they shouldn't ***** about it when its their choice to read the post or not.

hahha look whos back its that guy who I posted all the battle reports from when he attacked me. Aparently I hurt his feelings so hes back to show me what a little girl he aparently is

From stevent37

"After seeing how much trash you where talking on the Gaming message board I desided to give it another shot......

Looks like your ahead now but some how I dont think thats the way this will end.

For your &%$@ talking I will accept except 3 million and 50 tech and a peace offer, otherwise u eat a nuke at update.

Have a nice day"

Anyone that is a regular to the thread knows my attitude toward the game http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif If you have a nuke and have anyways wanted to use it nows your chance but if not Mineral planets will always be the best http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Edit:

After 2 air and 2 cruise missile attacks from this guy who is aparently the defense secratary for his big alliance and has twice the nation strength as me this is the best he can do on the ground and I am still in Defcon 5

You have been attacked by stevent37. You lost 4,071 soldiers and 651 tanks. You killed 13,001 soldiers and 3,182 tanks. Their forces razed 0.000 miles of your land, stole 0.000 technology, and destroyed 0.000 infrastructure. Their forces looted $0.00 from you and you gained $47,766.88 in your enemy's abandoned equipment. In the end the battle was a Victory. Any existing peace offers that were on the table have been automatically canceled.

Hah, it's funny what idiots will do sometimes.

You know, if I were building some kind of combat simulation where you only give x number of units A & B vs. y number of units C & D, I would give bonuses for being 1) the defender, and 2) the smaller number, then just throw in a bit of randomness for fun. Looks like whoever is administering CyberNations is doing the same thing.

CW you know once this conflict is resolved or even if you delete and start over you can count on aid from me. It is the least I can do.

Right now OCS cannot accept any one who is currently involved in any wars, especially wolfpack. All other who are interested in joining OCS please feel free to pm me here or in the game. I will pass on your request to General Jangles.

Atrocities September 13th, 2007 04:39 AM

Re: OT: Cyber Nation

General Jangles has informed me that any one who wishes to join our new alliance is welcome to join provided that you are not currently at war with any other nation.

He asks that you pm him in the game and that you change your AA to Organization of Confederated States and that you put OCS Applicant in your nation bio.

Also since OCS is a neutral alliance there are some considerations that you must first accept. 1. no attacking any other nation. (Once your in the alliance we can explain why.) 2. You must join our forum and fill out an application. 3. You need to use your Nation Ruler name when signing up for the forum. 4. you will be asked to read our charter and agree to it. 5. You must list Organization of Confederated States as your Alliance Affiliation. 6. You must put OCS Applicant into your nation bio. And 7. you must change your team color to Orange.

Since we are a new alliance, there are risks, these risks are lessoned by the fact that we do have allies with other alliances, however several of them are currently engaged in GW IV, and may not be available to help us. This means that we must all take care not to piss off any other nations or alliances until we can solidify our defenses and establish a good relationship with more allied alliances.

Again if you are interested in joining OCS please pm me here or General Jangles in the CN. Thank you and good luck.

Hello everyone, I am General Jangles. Council of Three member which is the same level as Atrocities. This will probably be my only post here on these forums. I must announce there are a few deviations to what good Atrocities just stated.

Quote:

1. no attacking any other nation. (Once your in the alliance we can explain why.)

We allow tech raiding for people that are inactive.

Quote:

Right now OCS cannot accept any one who is currently involved in any wars, especially wolfpack.

Please notify of your intent to join and we may be able to work you out of Wolfpack's grasp, you may not do so until we are given the OK from Wolfpack. This may involve paying reparations and such, but we will mostly handle that.

Quote:

4. you will be asked to read our charter and agree to it.

Our forums are down currently, so those that are not in a war currently may place "Organization of Confederated States" with the exception you place "OCS Applicant" in your bio.

Well thanks to the smooth talking work of General Jangles we have a deal with wolfpack to save the four nations that accepted aid from CW. We are going to pay them off to get you guys off of their ZI list. If you haven't yet joined OCS and want to, please follow the instructs as outlined in the above posts.

I will be sending the affected nations a PM via CN mail out lining the deal. Don't worry, you guys can keep the tech, and won't have to pay anything out of your own treasury.

Does that mean you can confirm that stevent37 has the support of his alliance? Because I have yet to see any evidence that Buffalonia isn't acting alone, and in violation of the Wolfpack's published charter.

I'm also curious as to who tipped off stevent37 about the trash talk. I seriously doubt he was looking at this forum before Combat Wombat published the results of the first tech raid.

And is anybody else having problems with the in-game e-mail system? The login screen and nation report insist I have a new message in my Inbox, but my Inbox claims to be empty.

Hello Guys. Sadly I guess you all know by now what has happened to Combat and the Wombat Protectorate has been officially dissolved. I know many of you will just move on but I want to ask each of you if you would consider an alternative to going it alone.

Come join me at OCS. As a new alliance we are always looking for members. I know many of you from Space Empires and I invite you to join forces with us at OCS and become a member.

As we grow we can provide aid to new nations and those who are trying to rebuild. Together we would be stronger and together we can move forward as an alliance worthy of respect.

If you are interested in joining the Organization of Confederated States, please pm me and I will send you our information.

I'm not convinced we were ever organized enough for CW to have the authority to dissolve the WP.

Let me rephrase my question, then. Is anyone negotiating with any Wolfpack member other than stevent37?

I'm having trouble thinking of a reason for anyone to Google this thread. It seems more likely to me that someone who already reads it pointed him here.

capnq we negotiated with the leader of the alliance not with stevent37. We did not get into a discussion about him. What we did do, after I was contacted last night and told to give up the tech I accepted, was work with them to try and save the guys in WP from being ZI'ed in a war.

GuyofDoom, seven very easy things to do. But if its not your thing, then good luck with the new game. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

OCS is just inviting any one who wants a join the alliance to do so. We make no promises about things, we are a new alliance and being as such there are risks. But any one who joins would be getting in on the ground floor. It is entirely up to each of you what you want to do, I cannot tell you what to do nor would I ever even try. I just hope that if your interested that you join OCS. Other than that good luck to you in whatever you choose to do. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Theres no actual way anyone can dissolve an alliance just like theres no way I could keep anyone from joining. The only reason I posted that it should be dissolved is because all of you will get attacked constantly with the alliance in such shambles it is way safer just for you to go mooch off another alliance for protection or actually join one like OCS.

Sorry if you took it badly, and I apologize for the word "trolling" but I only read these forums concerning CN. Looking back the last few pages of posts. CW is doing pretty good, interspersed by join OCS, several times, then CW made some comments and then is doing bad and the Wombat Protectorate is "dissolved" but you can still join OCS.

Inquiring minds may want to know if this was some sort of elaborate plan to destroy the WP? Was there collusion between OCS and the Wolfpack to dismantle the WP? Was the forums not googled but intentionally pointed out? Who was the real puppetmaster pulling all the strings?

I'm sure we'll never really know but the truth is unimportant as long as there are conspiracy theories. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif Which are more fun.

Re: OT: Cyber Nation

No offense, but I would guess that most of the players in the Wombat Protectorate wouldn't care much if Wolfpack had begun attacking. It would make things interesting for a few days, and then game over, move on to other things. All the players that have a real interest in the game would have since left for other alliances where the game is taken a bit more seriously.

You are not really being scolded for your kindness. "Trolling" probably is a bit of a harsh term to use for AT's recruitment. I think "fishing" goes a little better. I wish you the best for your alliance. I won't be joining, simply because I don't care that much.

CN was a nice little 10-minute diversion for a few months, but I'm not about to invest any extra time or effort into a game that pales in comparison to the depth of the games I normally play. And especially not to get involved in what seems to be a very infantile "political" system.

Anyway, again, good luck with the OCS thing.
