..all I can say about job hunting is that it really helps to have a 'virtual portfolio' of some kind on the net. In my case I spent lots of time creating RPG Tiles for use in roguelike games and made them available for free over the net. That's where Aaron saw my work and we ended up working togeather on his Dungeon Odyssey!

I want a different pattern for the wings of my creature, but I'm not sure where to get one, do you know of any good free image archives I can go to? Specifically I want something more butterfly like but different enough to be considered "alien"(desktop backgrounds seem to work but I can't find the right fit). The "placeholder" one I put in was a background that came with windows XP so I'm not sure If I could use it if I wanted to.(don't want to tick Bill Gates http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...s/rolleyes.gif ) I thought I saw a link to an image archive somewhere in this topic but I can't find it. (I'm talking about General Woundwort from the book Watership Down for those who don't know.) So I did some web digging, and found mostly junk - very bad and fuzzy JPEGS from the early 80's animated film. The Version I finally settled on was from an early 90's TV series remake...

thanks, number 4x7y looks something like what i wrote myself as for the cantina. i've had some success modifying existing images, despite a complete lack of drawing skills, so i'll see what i can do with that first.

Narf, your modified blueguy is a bmp!!! Avatars can NOT be bmp format! It only accepts .gif and .jpg!

I've experienced exactly what you're going through with your avatar. It perplexed me too! They say experience is the best teacher, I guess it's true!

Have any of you ever read books by Rick Cook called: Wizard's Bane
and The Wizardy Compiled. They are about a computer programmer who gets drawn into a fantasy world and who creates a magic compiler for building magical spells. David G's Avatar always reminds me of the hero in those books.

I really like that main avatar of his.

At some point, I'll have to try and do a screen capture of 'Raynor' from StarCraft and get some help making an avatar for myself.

Ms Experience, (and it is a woman), was always my favorite teacher. I had her for a lot of classes and still go back for regular refresher courses. I am currently up to “Trial and Error 4*01”. She is tough though. The dame has a tendency to test first and teach afterwards. I always get a passing grade but sometimes the assignments are late. And the tuition? Phew. Man, sometimes I can barely afford the course.

It is a Warhammer 40,000 Grot (space goblin) with a cape, a gun, an stick, and sunglasses (or perhaps goggles).

I did not expect you could shrink it, but hoped, despite how busy it is, that you might be able to crop it down to fit. Perhaps a close-up of the face.

It is somewhat important that the image be recognizable as this specific miniature, if this cannot be done, perhaps I can come to you later with another request.
