Democritus, as far as i know, was the first guy to propose the idea that everything is divisable down to an 'atom', or a unit of matter that can't be divided further. while that theory hasn't been proven, and the things we call atoms aren't, it was better than the other theory, which is that everything is made up of fire, air, earth and water.

TALUR: Fire, rock, sky, and water are the basic elements of the universe. They can be found in every object, every person, every animal -- everything.

TALUR: The rock in this wood can be felt by its weight and by its hardness. If we expose the wood to flame...

TALUR: We can encourage the fire in the wood to show itself. We also see smoke, which is a part of the sky. But, the water in wood is very difficult to see. Sometimes the basic elements can be hidden deep within objects, but all four elements are always there.

TALUR: Yes, Jayden?

DATA: I do not believe that is correct.

TALUR: Oh?

DATA: I believe you are reasoning by analogy -- classifying objects and phenomena according to superficial observation rather than by empirical evidence. For example, wood does not contain fire simply because it is combustible. Nor does it contain rock simply because it is heavy. Wood, like any complex organic form, is composed of thousands of different chemical compounds, none of which is fire.

So this thread still lurks along, eh? It's died time and time again but keeps getting resurrected. Perhaps someday it will return to its former glory and be the largest thread on the forums.

8:36 p.m. An Alliance Road resident had words with someone who’d parked in his parking spot. Subsequently, notes appeared on the man’s car stating, "I’ll kick your @#$." Just how impacting an "at" symbol, a cross-hatch mark and a dollar sign with a foot would bring closure to the parking space dispute is unclear.

here's a thought: why does it take no organics to make an Organics Farm Facility?

The Organics must come from the planet itself.
