Re: Patch

Well ive already patched aswell (several days ago) so i would prefer to either play with the patch or just wait until there is a fix for the horror bug (however small the fix maybe, just reducing the frequency might help) but in the end, its not up to me.

Re: Patch

It really is not that hard to revert your installation: you'll just need to install the game to a temp directory and copy the dom3.exe to your previous installation. You'll avoid inputting CD-keys, reinstalling maps and whatever, takes a couple of minutes at most, and even less if you can multitask something while the installer confirms itself and copies the files. Take the chance to make copies of both the patched executable and the unpatched one under dom301.exe and dom300.exe in your folder and make suitably named shortcuts to both while you're at it and you can play whichever version you need.

To not be willing to take that measly amount of trouble to secure the enjoyment of those who have valuable commanders on the HoF (like those fellas with their SC-pretenders) certainly sounds pretty petty to me. (Not to mention that having to avoid the HoF with your important commanders that aren't there yet makes for weird gameplay indeed.)

Even if we really fail to get folks to revert, I suggest you go ahead and continue hosting with the old version: At worst someone will get a [censored] up battle-replay when my turkeys attack, and at best no one will even notice.

Re: Patch

I definitely think unpatched is the way to go. The doom horror bug outweighs the improvements.

Agreed.

Re: Patch

I'd rather stay patched. Think of it as an equalizer. I mean, there weren't any other issues besides the hero horror, were there? Just think of it as a really bad random event. Suck it up and do the best with what you've got left.

Re: Patch

I think we need to summarize ppls votes and get to a decision based on the majority.

so far we have:
For patch, 3:
KissBlade,
Shova32,
djo

Against patch, 6:
Jurri,
Pasha,
WraithLord,
Cainehill,
Calmon,
okiN

3 for patch, 6 against.
I suggest not to patch.

Re: Patch

Actually it was 6 and 6, with one undecided vote the last time I got updated about the vote. Not all players posted their wish here.

Hm i am selfish now and vote vor using patch 3.01 too, after all my immortal god shouldn't be affected by the horror http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...ies/tongue.gif.

No Patch for Now

Ok.

The mighty HOST has decided, after consulting with various players, that we will not use the patch for now.

Hopefully, a new patch will come out soon.

Fine decision. At least from my point of view because my pretender is number 1 in HoF http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif. Even though the issue is already settled, I vote just in case for NOT to patch.
