Re: Space Food Empires!

Newsflash
King “BigMac” McDonald announced that from today the Burger Kingdom is in a state of war with the Kebabian anarchy. Order must be restored says the King. Now is the time to bring all under the golden arches, the time for all to join the great franchise.

A large fleet of Happy Meal dreadnoughts under Admiral McNuggets are already heading towards Kebabian space loaded with the most deadly of weapons, like the cholesterol bomb and the hot coffee beam. Admiral McNuggets says the ships sports impenetrable Styrofoam armor and that he expects an easy victory and a Whopping good time.

3 leading Kebabian anarchists, Dönner, Shish and Chicken, have in separate statements all announced a holy jihad against the evil franchise.
- We believe in freedom, says Shish Kebab, we will not let King McDonald force his bourgeoisie values on us.
- In an agitated speech, Dönner was heard to say; We got the spices, we got the pickles, we will not rest until the Last burger is left sizzling on the grill.
- When Chicken Kebab was told the news of the approaching Happy Meal fleets his only comment was: Does those come with fries ?

Does anyone remember the old SEIII ship set that looked like cutlery? Spoon, fork, plate, ships, etc? They were probably one of my Favorites for use as an AI opponent. Someone with skills should resurrect them for SEIV.

Re: Space Food Empires!

Greetings!

I'm continue to plug away at this project, mostly working on data files and the website with new and updated information. I'm also learning some new graphic programs to transfer my pencil & paper ship designs to viable formats for Star Fury and SE:V as well, so I can extend my mod into those games when they become available.

I'll let you know when the website is updated, it should include the remainder of common technology and some race specific stuff, empire descriptions, ship sizes, and a few design changes. I can't provide a date though for the update just yet.

While the comments have been funny to this point, I ask that we try and keep the topic on the items in or related to the mod. Thanks!

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I'm working on the update which includes a spiffed up interface, but also adds all sorts of details for technology and empires such as this one, the Biology description for the Bananas:

Quote:

Bananas are bi-pedal fruits with tough yellow skin and are suited to rocky oxygen worlds with humid, tropical climates. The typical banana averages 15cm in height with a mass of about 120g, although a wide variation exists among different subspecies. They possess above average strength and agility, but have a poor sense of smell and bad hearing. The Banana's thick outer skin, or peel, helps protect the inner flesh from exposure to the atmosphere which can lead to death by oxidation. Bananas are sexless and are grown on trees in large bunches. The growth period for a banana is about 150 days and once ripe, they awaken to become fully functional adults. The growth process can occur naturally or can be achieved artificially as in most modern cases, including the bio-engineering of Banana soldiers and workers. Bananas require a diet rich in carbohydrates and a few minerals including potassium to sustain their metabolic requirements. Their lifespans range from 10-25 years depending on their subspecies, although common Bananas rarely live beyond 10.
