Scene 2:

The obviously disoriented Archer is in no condition to negotiate with the Gol'thar Captain. The bridge crew picks up on his uncertainty but is unsure what to do. Finally T'Pol suggests the Captain report to sickbay and assumes temporary command. Quick thinking by Tripp and Lieutenant Reed allow Enterprise to avoid catastrophe as always, and the ship returns to their previous explorations.

Scene 3:

After a series of humourous and slightly embarasing incidents involving walking into the wrong staterooms and giving excuses to several confused ensigns in variuos conditions of dress, Sam manages to find sickbay where he submits to Dr. Phlox and all manner of tests while he tries to figure out what is going on. After several interminable minutes Al finally makes his appearance.

Al: "Sam! You wouldn't believe the time Ziggy had finding you." Al, steps into view and the glowing rectanlge closes behind him.

Sam: "Where am I Al?"

Phlox: "Captain? Why, your in sickbay of course. Are you feeling allright?"

Al: "Sam, you aren't going to believe this."

Sam: "Sorry doctor. No, I am allright. If you are done I think I am going to go to my quarters?"

Phlox: "Of course. I'll let you know what I find."

Sam gets up and walks out, trying to make it not too obvious that he has no idea where his quarters are.

Out in the hallway he mutters under his breath and tries not to make eye contact with the passing crewmen.

Sam: "Al, what's going on? All I can tell is I am the Captain of some sort of spaceship. But I have never seen anything like this before."

Al: "Noone has Sam. You are Jonathan Archer, Captain of the starship Enterprise. When Archer showed up in the waiting room we thought he was some kind of lunatic going on about about "Star Fleet" and something called a "Temporal Cold War". Most of it doesn't make sense yet, but Ziggy has figured out you've gone several hundred years into the future Sam,"

Sam: "What, but that's not possible! I'm only supposed to be able to travel in my own past, my own lifetime. I know I travelled to the civil war that one time, but we figured out it was because I leaped into my own grandpa. But how could I have leaped into the future?"

Al: "Yeah, I was wondering that too. But Ziggy says apparently you were able to leap into this Captain Archer because both of you are played by the same actor."

oh yes, let's put a kid on a starship bridge.
better yet, let's put a bunch of kids on a starship, where death is only the worse of several possibilities.

Wesley was evil. I refuse to watch ANY episodes with him. Well, almost all. Some are so good I can even barely tolerate him. Like the one with a nice girl who can turn into a monster. Pitty her shaperone did'n bite Wesley' head off http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon9.gif

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Young people of 14 and 15 years (ahead of the curve WRT physical growth, etc) have lied about their age and served inthe military before -- in wartime, no less, and doing tasks I'd expect would be FAR less likely for a kid their age to be able to handle (like getting into firefights, beign wounded, and killing people up close and personal) ... than driving a giant boat (no offense to navy men amongus).

There have even been veteransfo the korean and viet nam wars, who have had high-level medals and awards revoked ... because they lied about their age in order to serve, and were as young as fourteen and fifteen.

People don't like Wesley ... because the writers had NFC how to write a proper role for an adolescent character. Then again, given their track record on continuity ... what else would you expect?

The role was IMO nothing but a poorly-thought-out gimmick, intended to try and rope in more young male viewers, and create new fans. Unfortunately, the role was SO poorly written, it had much the opposite effect.
