Do you have any images that would make good Starmap images (background for default systems)? If we get several, I can make the systems have different background images, which would be good for better diversity. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif They would have to be fairly similar looking though, or else it might just look odd...

This mod has the potential to become huge... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif I might have to rewrite it to be more modular, so you could download smaller "system packs" and have different SystemTypes.txt files available. Basically, I would just add a whole bunch of duplicate entries for various system types to every quadrant, and all system files would be the same, just with different images called for. So you might have for example 30 nebulae systems (rather excessive http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif ), but since there are only 15 graphics, Nebulae 16-30 would just use those same graphics again. This would allow easy expandability for adding new images, and would not force everyone to have to download dozens of MBs of mod files (unless they wanted to, ofc http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif ). I wonder how many different system types SE4 will allow in Quadrants.txt...

I posted about this one a few months back (not the 'light echo' phenomenon, but the novalike explosion itself). Scientists still don't know what caused the explosion, as it does not fit current theories or stellar models.

My theory consists of three words: (Starfury. Demo. Oops, sorry, that's from the other thread).

As I was saying, three words : Stellar Nucleonic Torpedo.

Well, as you can tell from the change in thread title, my intention was to upload some RAR'ed files of new nebula and black hole BMP's for Fyron. Unfortunately, the board had other ideas...

No, but I got that error when I tried uploading FQM Deluxe... I could upload the 4 MB "JPEG" file, but not the 9 MB "Full" file. Try breaking the archive up into smaller chunks, it should work... Richard needs to get to fixing it. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

I put each image set (660,490,128) in a separate RAR file, so each one is only .99MB. File size should not have been a factor.
