I have to agree with PvK and Rollo that the satellite internet sounds very expensive. Given the choice, I would stay with the slow dialup. In fact, I am using dialup right now, although I am connected at 28,800 rather than 14,400.

Of course, from what his post said, it looks like Thermo would be willing to sell AT that uplink kit for a lot less than 750 dollars...

You stated you are moving to a sub-divsion...
maybe the lot of you can get together and let Comcast know how many there want it...I do know there is a min as to the cost ver income/payback so there may not be enough to fill it that way..can even hit the city board and see if it is in there contract to offer to the whole city
