Most of the people in the first test game hadn't played it much either, esp. since there is not yet any functional AI (soon to be rectified http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif ). And besides, newbies are always able to catch mistakes that veterans miss. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

I will probably take a Magic race with the Religious traits. Yes, I am quite curious to see how these traits play with Adamant. Do not worry though, there are no Talismans in Adamant so you won't need to crush my Empire in the early game. *Smirks*

(By Talisman I meant the Talisman we all know in the vanilla game. There are Talismans (or are they Shrines?) in Adamant, but they merely give system-wide bonuses.)

ACtually... there is still the Religious Talisman, which gives a 30% to hit bonus. And then there is the Fate Talisman, which gives up to a 20% ECM bonus. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif Now, whether those are enough to justify 50 kT size (Fate one probably is) will have to be determined by testing. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif
