I always turn that off, because I can't remember what type I need without looking at my resource production and the planet's values.

Re: Question

To turn off the feature that asks you to pick a colony type when you colonize a planet:

Click the 'crown' button (Empire Status) or F11.
Click the 'Empire Options' button.
Under General Options, unselect 'Display select colony type dialog when colonizing planet'.

Re: Question

What do you want to accomplish?

Open the Minister tab On the right hand side there are some selections. Click on EMPIRE OPTIONS

Under General Options you can choose what windows will pop up. Most of use play without touching these options, however you might want to look them over for your own reasons and choose to turn one or more off.

Ministers are ok, but if you have them handle colonization you might want to turn off the option under the General Options that reads:

"Display Select Colon Type dialog when colonizing a planet."

What will happen then is the AI will colonize a planet and you will not be bothered with having to choose what colony type you want. The AI will, if the Facilities Construction minister has been activated under the MINISTER tab, build facilities on that planet according to the design construction file in the race folder.

I like to choose what my planets are going to have on them early in a game, but after I have enough planets and good production I let the AI have it.

For the Star Trek Mod I am always working on the Ai to try and make it a bit better. However I have no clue as to what I am doing so the going is slow. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif
