They should move on the same day at the same speed for the first turn. At least, that was my understanding of how it works. If it does not work that way, it would be a bug and you need to email MM about it. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

I believe that "ctrl + a" selects all the ships in a sector when you are on the main screen. Now, what would be cool would be adding a way to fleet fleets. So instead of them being fleets, they would be squadrons (or something). Then, you would make fleets by grouping together squadrons.

Well "wings" is more a term for fighters, not capital ships.

Fleets of fleets would be really handy. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

I wonder how experience would work, then? Would the squadron experience be added to each of the fleet experiences which are added to the ship experience? Maybe just use the highest experience out of the squadron / fleet experience and add it to each ship? Or maybe squadrons won't have their own experience?

What about renting some of youre fleet to youre allies to fight their enemies ? say in return for reimbursement if any ships are damanged or destroyed say the original consturction costs + 10% ?
But perhaps the ally couldnt strip it of technology ?

Some interesting ideas that the second part hasnt been discussed yet. Just throwing around some ideas.

It is shift + a, not ctrl + a. Aaron doesn't like windows-standard hotkeys. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif Check the Hotkeys section of the in-game help. Extremely useful section if you ask me. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif
