If death is what we believe it to be, then I'd call it a cruel joke on pessimists.

My dad says he had a nightmare one, where he died and went to the afterworld, and it was full of terrible singing people with hair of terror - TV Evangelical Christians! Now that's a cruel fate!

Cruel would be to die and then wake up in your old life knowing exactly how it will go and being able to do nothing about it. Or at least that would be hell for me. Wait... I am in hell now!

You would think with all the bad luck I have had in my life, God blames me personally for the death of his son. As if I was the guy who tacked him to that cross or something.

If I was, I AM SORRY! Ok, so lighten up on me God!

Seriously, if you have not read the book Sphere, you should consider doing so. Especially if you have not seen the movie. It is very easy to believe that life, and death, are what we believe them to be.

I've read Sphere, but that was a few years ago and I don't remember all of the details. I'll take your word for it, because I think that was one of Crichton's worse books. I didn't really care for it enough to read it again.

I read most of his books and I would have to say that it was a nice read. Better than most books I read that year by far. Well except for the Alchemist. That boook was goood.

I'm blindly believe that I will newer die, and will live forever. Am I?

<font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">Anything is possible man. If it just happens in your reality, then its real. To the rest of us, you'll be gone, but to you, if you believe, then life goes on forever. But the caveat (sp) would be that you would always know that death is coming so you will always die. So I would say practically no. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon9.gif

Oh wait, we are his sons!

I hope you aren't taking seriuously that crappy movie that started Last Wednesday.
That movie doesn't deserve your thoughts, not your time, least of all your money.

Go and watch Return of the King again instead. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

You guys talked about "What dreams may come" great movie about the afterlife (After I saw that movie I kept thinking about it for 7 days straight, with some mushroom help indeed http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif )

But back to the subject: don't forget the film "Flatliners", another strange view on Death.
(did not dare to sleep with a girl for over 2 years http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif )

See ya all, In space or after.........

Sphere {link} came out in 1998.

I believe that our beliefs about the afterlife are crude approximations; the reality will exceed anything we can imagine.
