I'd run a virus scan for sure - and next I'd reinstall the game.

The first files are fine and how it should be, plus maybe a few autosave files depending on how frequently you have it set.

The rest are wierd and is making me think something more sinister is going on.

Re: Very slow loading on XP

The game runs fine on my XP system. I have had no problems with it at all.

You might have some hardware issues with your PC that might be causing problems.

Make sure you don't have the game disk in any of your drives. In fact make sure your drives are empty.

Right click on the short cut for SEIV and then properties then compatability and see if you can get it to run better under an emulator.

Past that I would re-install XP.

I would start a new game, and constantly check for exactly when these extra files start showing up. Have a archive file (*.zip would probably be best) ready, and add the contents of the savegame/history folders, starting with before when the files show up, and going in a few turns. Send this in with a detailed explanation of your system (OS Version, service packs installed, etc.) to malfador@malfador.com

Someone please correct me if Aaron is using a different address for bug reports...

Autosave is another thing that I turned off.
