Re: Aaron Hall Spotted on SE4 Yahoo Group
Yeah, when I tried playing a game of SEIII, it just wasn't the same and I quickly went back to playing SEIV. Some of the features in SEIII were nice though: the detailed in-game help, the resizeable windows, the construction queues system, the ability to choose the races' technologies at the start of the game, etc. But SEIV is a much nicer game! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

Re: Aaron Hall Spotted on SE4 Yahoo Group
Of course there are better features in SEIII than in Gold (Kamog pointed out some of them) but SEIV is a superior game...
So I think what Aaron might have been saying is a Lot of Players want some of the features of SEIII Returned, and i agree partially, theres some good stuff that wasn't put in SEIV. I'm thinking thats what he means as even with these features SEIII wasn't as good. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif So hopefully we can mix the best of both, i better start stocking up on the pro plus tablets and my lucozade reserves http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif |
Re: Aaron Hall Spotted on SE4 Yahoo Group
Here's my take on what se5 will probably end up being like,..
Gameplay = SE:IV++ Features = SE:III+-, SE:IV +-, SE:V+ As you can see from these equations, the gameplay will exceed se4 and features will come from both se3 and se4 along with all new (super-duper) features unique to se5. I think that all people who buy se5 will want to buy a second copy and place it in a safety deposit box. (for safe keeping.) Here's a question, If a Limited 'Special Signed Edition' was made available, what would you people think was a fair price? (what? did another novel marketing idea just pop out of my head again? geeze, I need to find a cork. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/tongue.gif ) ) Cheers! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif |

Re: Aaron Hall Spotted on SE4 Yahoo Group
Coming from an actual Malfador employee that sounds like a market survey... didn't we have one of those for SE4 Gold? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif
Anyway, I'd say whatever around $50-$60 US, assuming the regular edition is $40-$45 like SE4 is. (Sorry Canadians but I'm trying to be fair to the developers as well http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif ) Would I pay for a special edition? Probably not though, unless it came with a free T-shirt or something. So take my advice with a grain of salt! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/tongue.gif |
Re: Aaron Hall Spotted on SE4 Yahoo Group
What? Price the sequal the same as the previous Version? Surely there would have to be a token raising at least. $5? $10 would be more usual.

Re: Aaron Hall Spotted on SE4 Yahoo Group
Although most likely it would be as Ed Kolis suggested, and SEIV Gold would drop slightly in price as it seems to be the way these days http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

Re: Aaron Hall Spotted on SE4 Yahoo Group
It seemed, specifically, that elements of Research and Intel from SEIII will be incorporated into SEV. So there might not be a limit on the number of intel projects you can do, and you would be able to adjust how many research points you wish to place into each research project (as many as you wanted).
I think that would be a better alternative than what we get now with SEIV. At least for this aspect of the game. |
Re: Aaron Hall Spotted on SE4 Yahoo Group
Go check out the Yahoo group NOW... There is some exciting stuff Aaron posted re: SE5 modding on there... Can anyone say user-defined damage types? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif
