Tesco's system works the best but I combine it with a 5 x 7 notebook I carry around both at work and home.
Pooh Star hung a large Calendar with 3"x3" squares to put notes in. I can never say "You didn't tell me"

Yahoo profiles have a Calendar. It can be programed to email reminders.

Slick's idea works as well. I used a variation on it at one time.

I hate to say it, but the Evil Empire's Outlook is what I use. In combination with a Chapura program that allows me to synchronize my Palm Pilot with Outlook, I have everything (address book and Calendar) all together and available wherever I go (unless I forget the Palm http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif ).
