And I though seven dollars was bad. Sometimes, I'll wait until it gets to the 'second hand' theater. It can be as cheap as $0.50 to see it there, on the right day.

Until recently, theaters here charged $13.95. A few months ago, they lowered the price and now it's $10.95.

This is Canadian dollars.

I can see movies for $5.50 Canadian. Of course, that's because I'm a student, otherwise the price would be $7.50 which still isn't bad at all. There's a catch though; movies often take 3-4 weeks to get there after they've been in the theaters in large cities.

<font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">True story. When Star Trek: TMP came out in 1979, it debuted around Pearl Harbor day. It didn't get to my home town in Oklahoma until Memorial Day weekend. I was in agony for 6 months until I could see it. I'm glad they've changed that system in the states, anyway.

As far as movie prices, I've recently discovered a small theater in the town my in-laws just moved in where it costs only $5 (US) to see a movie, and that's after the matinee timeframe. The matinee price is only $3 for an adult. I've seen a few movies there since I found this place. The Last one was Spiderman 2. Unfortunately, it's only a 6 screen theater, so not all of the movies go there, or if they do, don't stay long.

Randallw, if I'm not mistaken, Glover never got the chance to look at the Predator's trophy room. The only time you see the Alien scull is when the Predator is cleaning the spines of a couple of his victim's, and you see the skull. I read an interview once where they said they did that in tribute to the original AVP mini-series. I just wish it hadn't taken 15 years for the concept to go on screen. Too bad they had to make it on modern earth. The original story took place on some faraway colony world, and Ripley was nowhere to be seen. The main human character was female, however, and in the end, she joined up with a predator pack after proving her skills. Hopefully this movie won't be as bad as the Last 2 Alien films. AT, you're wrong about Predator 2. In some ways, I enjoyed it much better than P1.

<font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">The only movie I've gone to see at the theatre is (was) the LOTR series. Otherwise, we wait for the DVD (rental). We can't mimic the theatre sound (duh) but it's a good trade off to paying $16 for 2 tickets (wifey). Our bedroom is oversized and contains a large screen TC, Yamaha digital system with Bose surround speakers (rear speakers mounted in the ceiling behind the bed). So, we do OK in that room with sight and sound http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif .
