I am attempting to get another game going (A blitz style game with computer plaers for tonight) if you are interested.

When I try to play pythium I get an error message saying.
"Turn file is corrupted".

Do you have any suggetions?

<font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">You should have a folder in the dom2 dir named NewNetworkGame, rename it and try again.

The name change worked.
But a folder named newnetworkgame was recreated.
When I tried to play the 2nd turn I had the same problem untill I renamed the folder again.
Is there a more elegant way of processing the turns?

I agree, I dislike seeing random events rare, and independents 9. This is a setup designed to give SC pretentenders and unlucky nations a head start and I prefer a level playing field.
