She can't be a broad! Chicks don't play Dominions! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

(I'm aware of how many things are wrong with that statement.)

Thank you for that advice about proper etiquitte in bars with ambigously dressed people. It should save me a considerable amount of embarassment in the future. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

Sorry, couldn't resist. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

Re: Joonie Questions Here

I have a stupid question that will show how new I am:

I am seiging a lich in his home castle where he has dominion. Now...I thought that if he is killed here he will just respawn next turn. Or is this wrong?

If he will respawn next turn, why wouldn't he attack every turn as he has nothing to lose (unless he need research or summons)?

I have played around with immortal pretenders but have never been seiged when using one.

He will respawn. Unless you manage to lower his dominion to zero he can be very nasty.

Something like that http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif They cause lesser fear, so I suppose up against one of those shiny shields where they see their own scarred face, they may indeed become scared... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

Re: Joonie Questions Here

Immortals actually seem to respawn in the same turn that they're killed. For instance, once I killed the Master with the Iron Crutch when he (alone) sallied forth from the castle gates and failed to lift my siege, and that very same game turn I killed him again when my troops stormed the castle. If I'd hit him with Earth Attack or Seeking Arrow, perhaps I could have killed him three (or more?) times that turn?

Oooh... I have a Joonie Question:

Which combat phase activates first, commander magic or commander shooting?

Sub-question that this question is really asking: Can I shoot a mage with my commander before he can zap me?

Sub-sub-question about why this all matters: Can I get the Bow of Botulf off before I can get magic-duelled? Is this an effective counter?

Keep in mind that only astral mages can be magic dueled. Anyone (edit: with a mind) can be mind-burnt, though.

But, I think your question may imply a slight misunderstanding of the engine. Combat is staged in alternating turns, right side - left side - right side - left side, and so forth. So, the attacker will always go second in normal combat, after all the defending units take their turn.

Assassination attempts and scouts being discovered may be a little different; I'm not sure. In the arena, I think it's random who gets which side.
