The easiest solution is for the PBEM host to simply ignore those orders and revert to defend (or hide).

Anyway, I don't see that it would be all that tricky, especially the auto search, there its just move to an adjacent unsearched province (or not fully searched) and if in an unsearched province search it. The problems with auto move are obvious, but also trivially easy to counter, if the path is blocked or the destination is no longer valid, then revert to defend, honestly I don't see what's so difficult from a processing stand point. It might make the .h2 files a bit bigger, but they are already so tiny I can't even imagine that it would be much of an issue.

I've had a lot of fun in single-player games as Mictlan and as Ulm. I have used normal or slow magic research, normal or high event frequency, normal or high site frequency, Normal/Hard/Impossible AI's (several of them at once). Different players have different tastes and skills, though. I think it helps to do a bit of roleplaying and take it easy when not in an immediate war with someone. Try to do interesting and unique things, and pay attention to character histories, and try to cultivate and keep alive veterans and heroes. Try out various units, tactics, and magics. (Don't be a system-exploiting munchkin looking for the best and most efficient thing to do, and do that to the max. At least for me, that's just trying to minimize the fun, unless reacting to a desperate situation in the game.) This all makes for a really fun game, for me anyway.

Use the Inland Map... Activate all nations and set them all to the hardest level of ai... (be sure to have 1 human player)... start playing...

this will be your ultimate gaming experience ever... but it's not for the faint hearted...
