Re: One of those moments

I tried moving the "holy avenger" guy out. And still only one smite.

I also tried removing the "personal regeneration" still only one.

I then figured that perhaps the "holy avenger" isn't transfered to the communicants, and i then tried with alot of level 4 priest. Still only one.

In all instances everyone in the pack with the BoF guy took some damage.

I think that getting one at all is a bug, but apparently a bug that can happen only once pr. combat round. But still it would've looked cool if it had worked.

Can Holy Avenger affect more than once per turn, at all? I haven't really been testing it or anything, and it is quite rare to have holy-4 mages get damaged...

I too thought the spell was triggered by the protected one DYING, not just getting hurt.

The description of Holy Avenger:
"Any harm done to the casting priest will result in a divine bolt striking in the midst of the enemy"

This suggests that the caster need not die, but only get damaged.

After looking carefully at the battle I can say the following:

- In rounds when someone died, a bolt struck.
- In rounds when no-one died but someone took damage, a bolt struck.
- In one round when two of them died, only one bolt struck.
- In every round a maximum of one bolt struck.

This suggests that any amount of damage taken (from friendly fire) with or without cassualties will produce a maximum of one bolt pr. combat round.

Perhaps the old Greek pretender Nemesis has a somewhat sub-par chassis in Dominions II http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/tongue.gif
