I can take Panagea. First multiplayer game, but I am registered on mosehansen and I'm pretty sure I know how everything works.

Do I have to Upgrade to the new patch? And if so, what's the best way for a computer 'ninie' like me to go about that without frying my other games?

As long as you play on Mosehansen's Server, you do not yet need to patch. Though I hope that one day you will, but that's for our generous host to decide.
