Baseships are better. If you retroseries build you can build them pretty fast. And the extra shield and massive weapons make up for the lack of speed and 40% greater to hit penalty. You need 2-3 dreadnoughts just to get past a baseship's shields. Whereas one baseships can wipeout 1.5 dreadnoughts in a turn.

Usually, I use dreadnoughts, because in most games that I play (PBW) I don't Last long enough to get baseships! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...ies/tongue.gif However, in games where I have plenty of resources and a full tech start (Like RTH 2) I build mostly baseships, due simply to the increased firepower and the extra shielding you can fit on a ship that's 500Kt larger than the dreadnought.

I use baseships. But I still have to use cheats to win lol
