Or alchemize fire / earth gems into gold. I have many games I do this in, especially when I'm running CW Pan, but also others - start creating enough Fever Fetishes and income starts to become irrelevent as long as you can recruit 1/10th as many scouts as you have fetishes each turn, modified by the HPs of your scouts, among other things.

Blood nations might find it easier to live off of blood stones, even with the lesser gem -> gold ratio.

Yeah i have been alchemizing all my fire gem income. Havent built any fetishes though... no easy way of getting a fire/nature crossover.

well, if you have arcane nexus up and are getting 80+ astral/turn from it (such that you didn't even notice due to your clam income...), just alchemize to fire and sell the sh*t. that's 600+ gold/turn right there.

Yeah fetish hoarding and the worries for money are (almost) gone in mid-lategame .

Earthincome i rarely convert into gold because there are so many imo "better" uses for the earthgems like further hammers , casting the forge of ancients or hordes of mechanical men etc. etc. .

Very often you are lucky enough to find a province with jade sorceresses . Some of them will have a random fire then and can be used for fetish forging . Most can be used for clamforging as well http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif .
The only 2 summons which can get NF are afaik tartarians and spectres .
If you can cast the forge for a few turns though every of your mages can build fetishes quite cheap and you will quickly swim in them .
