Re: need help

mod launcher goes in SE4 directory. Select your mod on the left, then press the button under it. It should work. If not, send an email to malfador.

Re: need help

It sounds like you may have overwritten the SE4.exe with the launcher program.

------
Just forget the mod launcher for now. It is not needed.

STEP 1:
edit path.txt It should have only one entry:
Quote:

Using Mod Directory := TDM-ModPack

(or whatever the folder name of the mod is)
Click File->Save.
Click File->Exit.

STEP 2:
Doubleclick SE4.exe. NOT "SE4 launcher.exe"

The mod's title screen will display, and the progress bar will move as the game loads.

STEP 3:
PLAY SE4. Load a saved game, start a new game, whatever.

The white squares are caused by not having the imagemod installed, as you surmised.

If the AIs are not designing ships correctly, you probably are trying to use a stock/TDM ai in the ST mod.
Only AIs that are specifically made for the ST mod will work.
If you want the TDM shipset in STM, then you can delete all of its AI files, and replace them with AI files from a random STM AI.

Re: need help

mrscrogg If you need just the data and AI files for the Star Trek Mod (STM) you can download them from www.astmod.com in the download section.

This will give you all of the races AI files. If you want to add additional ship sets or replace any of the current ones with other ship sets, simply remove the AI from the new ship set and place that ship set, without the AI, into the Star Trek Mod / Pictures / Race folder. Then copy over the AI from a simular race, Like good guys = Federation, merchants = Ferengi, Bad guys = Klingons, scemers = Romulans, etc. Or just use one of the base AI. Rename the AI Files to match the name of your new race.

Your off and running.

Re: need help

in checking game ,letting AI build ships ,engines in place yet there is 0/0 for movement points - what do I need to fix ?

Fyron February 27th, 2005 05:00 PM

Re: need help

You just need to design the ships to have at least one movement point from the "ship standard movement" ability type, after factoring in the engines per move value for that hull. "Bonus" and "extra" movement is only applicable if the ship has at least one movement point already. Unfortunately, the design screen does not take this into account.

Re: need help

if I'm playing against the AI and designing my own ships fine , but how does the AI factor what you just written about ?
