One of the imagemod files, the components iirc, was broken on the main site, but the mirrors are okay.

If you mean the Geocities site, that one only has old patches.

http://imagemodserver.mine.nu/other/MM/SE4/imagemod is the real main site.

You might want to take down the Geocities site... Turn it into a link to the new main site, perhaps.

The AIC mod may interest you; it can be downloaded from here. The mod takes a rather different approach than TDM: where TDM focuses on better scripts for the AI, AIC gives direct assets to the AI to compensate for the things the AI does not use well (remote mining for example).

AIC is also based on the Proportions mod, so you should expect a slower pace, and fewer planets/ships to manage. Population plays a more important part, but you have the option of skipping the "moving population around" part if you want.

Re: Single Player Mods

FYI, My Miners Guild Mod is built on the Devnull Mod v1.70. Basically I made planets have less resources and boost the resources and frequency of asteroids. With the added Miner class ships setting up mining bases/production centers is very important. As an added bonus (for whimps like me) the AI players don't use the asteroids so, their resources are restricted to planets and like I said they are reduced. So this in effect gives the 'Human' player a singificant advantage (I still don't win, I'm the father of all whimps).

Some players like to use my mod in a more challenging way,.. not use asteroid mining, this puts you back on par with the AI, but you have limited resources.

There are many interesting elements in the Devnull Mod, and the FQM (also included in the base Devnull Mod) So I highly reccomend my Miners guild mod, But then again I'm Biased.

I think the link in my sig still works, try it and see. Feedback is welcome.

My Dark Nova 4 mod also has working AI's. They've been taken from TDM AI's. Dark Nova makes relatively few changes to the basic SE4 game but adds some things that increase the options you have when building ships and units through mounts and extra sizes mainly. Plus some other stuff. It can be d/l from spaceempires.net or from PBW.

By the way, the AST mod is no longer supported by Atrocities ( I think...) The current star trek mod is...well... the Star Trek Mod, and it has an AI much improved over the AST mod AI. The link to STM should be in Atrocities sig somewhere.

In my opinion, STM is much better than AST.

Another nice blend of mods is the TDM + FQM + deathstalkers mount mod. All these together retain playable AI's who use the mounts correctly from DMM with lots of good eye-candy from the FQM.

Is there an archive version of TDM? I'm running SE4 on linux with wine and the installer version of TDM I got from the bittorrent tracker doesn't work with wine.
