Re: Funny Behaviour
Are you not using mounts on your capital ships? You could be seriously outclassed that way perhaps?

Re: Funny Behaviour
He said heavy mount seeking spores... maybe the mod he's using offers heavy seeker mounts... which will say they will work, but won't work in practice - they'll do whatever the unmounted damage is, and that might not be enough to do any real damage.

Re: Funny Behaviour
Greetings,
I am using the nornal SEIV. Here are some more infos I gathered and corrections: - The race I am fighting against has very good defense and good attack modifier. I let mine to 100% attack and 100% defense. However, I am berserker race modifier. - The enemy ships are equiped with massive mount Antimatter torpedoes III (2x), massive mount Anti-Proton beam III (4x), Shield Generator 4 (2x), ECM 1 and Multiplex Tracker 2. - My classes of attack ship use ECM 3 and Multiplex tracking 5: - Massive mount envelop acid globules 2 (4x) and massive mount null space projector 3 (3x) - Massive mount polaron beam 3 (4x) and massive mount graviton hellbore 3 (2x) - Seeking acids organic thing (forgot to write them down...) (8x) The only ships that can do some damage are the ones with the polaron and the hellbore. All the other are doing no damage at all. It seems they don't hit at all. Thank you |

Mounts are there. One thing I do see lacking is the Combat Sensors to increase hit chance. Those should be a must for all attack ships. Also, are you training any of your ships? IMO, that is a biggie to do - can give you an additional 40% (both ship and fleet training). You can have the best weapons in the game, but if you can't hit the target, they don't mean anything. Lastly, get the advanced armor types (both Scattering and Stealth). AT level III, those 2 components add 30% to your defense. Just my $.02 |
Re: Funny Behaviour
Im unsure, but it would be possible that both the polaron beams and the hellbore have an inherent attack modifier, able to overcome a potential evasion advantage of your enemy. In that case, make sure to simply train your ships. Ships can get up to 20% training from both ship and fleet training, the percentages gained will add to your attack and defense %. So if you have a full trained fleet of full trained ships, all your vessels will have a 40% better hitrate and 40% better chance to evade.
In addition, you mentioned you are using lvl 3 ECM and Multiplex 5: Get Combat Sensors, each level gives you 20% more hitchance. In addition, let go of stupid multiplex tracking. You dont expect your single vessel to hit/destroy more than 2-3 ships per turn, so there is no need to get the ability to target even more vessels. Other than that, no idea. |
Re: Funny Behaviour
In the stock game, neither the Phased Polaron Beam nor the Graviton Hellbore has any built-in to hit bonus.
