A long time ago, I had read the Han Solo series, so recently I got the urge again and I thought I'd start reading some other Star Wars books. I did a search http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/shock.gif There's like a million books. I was totally intimidated. I even found a website that recommended a certain order to read all the books, although they all aren't supposed to be exactly sequential.

With all the books published and officially recognized as canon, he'd just about have to either use the plot of an existing book trilogy, skip several very eventful decades, or cover a drastically less important/more obscure plotline than anything in the first six movies in order to make a sequel trilogy. If he ever did have an outline for movies 7-9, either it's already been published in a trilogy of novels or it flatly contradicts a substantial amount of now-official canon.

That wouldn't stop him. Nothing says he can't have a later movie script that contradicts things in some of those books. I am sure the people that write and read those books take them much more seriously then Lucas does. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Yeah, sometimes it seems that Lucas doesn't even take the Original Trilogy as canon, given the way he keeps changing things in them.

Given the story line, and the pre-reviews, I hold no breath for this moving being anything other than sucky. I therefore - "will go and spend my $10.00 to see it just like all of the other geeks, dweebs, nerds, morons, fools, and fanatical sci-fi freaks." - Jimmy Kenel (?)

So help me God if this movie sucks, I will never go see another Star Wars movie in the theater again. (Duh)

I'm just looking forward to the orbital battle over Corsucant.

I could probably care less about the finer details. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...ies/tongue.gif

You know, theres a big area before the movies that are void of books or anything like that. Movie about the origin of the jedi, anyone?

Dude, you're forgetting something. In this one, that whiny little ***** Anakin finally sucks it up and KILLS EVERYONE. That includes all the little kids at the academy. Not only that, but from what I've heard, in the Obi-wan v. Anakin fight, good old Ben does the right and proper Jedi thing. He cuts off Anakin's remaining limbs (he already lost the arm, remember?), then leaves him to die by the side of a river of lava.

In the originals, everyone loved (well, hated...) Vader because he was, to borrow from Sam Jackson AKA Mace Windu, one badass mother****er. He was a great villan, and now we get to see the whiny little kid turn into THAT. Lucas tried to make villans to match Vader in Eps. VI, I, and II (the Emperor, Darth Maul, and Count Dooku). He only really marginally succeeded with Ep II, IMO, and only because it's friggin Christopher Lee, and he can pull of a good villan.

Sure, the effects should be pretty, and I'll probably watch a few times to see those, but what I really want to see is the Dark Side.
