In regars to the above mentioned tanks I would rule out any T-80U ever being fielded. South Korea got some them as debt repayment but not NK. There are rumors that NK may have obtained limited numbers of russian tanks in the 90's but these would have been T-72s or at most earlier T-80s. Certainly not the pricey, rare and limited issue T-80U. |
Re: Suggestion: country threads
For Marcello NK tank The P'okpoong-Ho.
If it is this official they got em. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/P%27okpoong-Ho Can't get any more official then this. ;) The Ch'ŏnma-ho http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ch%27%C5%8Fnma-ho Might want to adopt M-1992 Twin 30mm SP AA Gun while at it. http://fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/land/...1992-spaag.htm http://pds10.egloos.com/pds/200812/0...7a47224ccc.jpg http://pds11.egloos.com/pds/200809/1...dede9233dc.jpg Wildly known in military circles is the extensive NK SAM system while this country is narrow at its waist it sure make use of older and not so effective SAM systems in other parts of the world. We all know that Serbia was quite successful with their old SA-6s and the SA-17 system during the NATO bombings over former Yugoslavia. Now that was hills, and forests, imagine the same system in the terrain NK offers. Ask around at any air base in the states and try catching one gunship pilot that has served at the DMZ and checking if he/she has served in Iraq as well, ask them what differed the two areas of operation. I am sure you will be surprised. ;) NK got SA-1, SA-2, SA-3, SA-4, SA-6, SA-13 Gopher, and SA-17 Gadfly. No SAM systems in the NK OBB is to be found except for the SA-16s. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Korean_...%27s_Air_Force Kind Regards: Shilka77 |
