Thanks Andy. I have seen this before in the DOS version too. I had 3 Mig-23 COIN plaster my Russian field guns at the other end of the map while assaulting a Chechen held city. The plot hex was on the other end of the map.

maybe it's becuase COIN have low spotting, and the arty units fire, and create smoke that marks their postion. Atracting hte low Vis COIN strike?
