Re: win2k KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED
Not that I know of on custom builds.
Did you try to run windows repair yet? Also, you might try to run the dos hard drive tests from your drive provider. Then try msconfig and back the driversout one at a time. |
Re: win2k KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED
Fyron, how did your system get infected with this? Don't you have the latest anti virus protection software? Try this site for help. http://www.security-forums.com/forum/index.php

Re: win2k KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED
My computer is not infected with anything...
It is quite safe to say that my problems are 100% independent from software, since the hardware reboots have occured while running memtest86... Memory tests ok. Hard drive passed the quick test of WDC Data Lifeguard. Sigh... nothing left to test easily. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif |
Re: win2k KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED
Did you try some dusting? Every so often my computer starts to reboot more frequently and after a give it a good dusting, it stops... aside from the occassional pesky reboot due to a long unresolved thing between my video card and mobo. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...ies/tongue.gif

Re: win2k KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED
My computer is regularly dusted.
edit: So much for WD's diagnostic tool... The drive just started making funny clicking noises. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif |
Re: win2k KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED
If you boot with a bartPE disk, will the system stay up? If it will, then the problem is HD or software. BartPE has some HD tools built in. Next step would be to back out the drivers and reinstall them.

Re: win2k KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED
You know, it is quite helpful to provide links... Google is often a terrible resource.
Backing out drivers is not possible when the problem is most certainly a failing hard drive. |
Re: win2k KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED
Get that new drive in and slave this one. Then copy over what you need. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif Is that your plan of attack?

Re: win2k KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED
If your harddrive is failing, than I recommend that you purchase a new harddrive and attempt to back-up all the files you wish to do so. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...ies/tongue.gif
I would provide you a link in which to buy a new harddrive, but you like to buy computer components from fairs, and I don't know of any in your area of California. |
