I've had AVG find virus infections in the system restore points, even when it wasn't there before. So that's something to consider with XP's "save all restore points" option. 'Course, AVG could just be incorrect.

' A'ight. First, turn off System Restore. Right click MyComputer and go from there. Next, open up start menu, then goto run, type in MS CONFIG. Somewhere in thjere is an option to boot in Safe Mode. Do so. Once you restart, you'll only have Explorer and one other application running. No connections to the net or anything. Run AVG and delete it all. Open up MS Config again and unselect safe mode and restart as normal. Everything should be fine. If windows is still acting *****y, do the repair option. AVG likes doing collaterol damage. |
