I was going to get the link from the SE3 sites page on Malfador.com, but it has been totally destroyed... way to ruin a piece of SE history. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...s/rolleyes.gif

Never heard this story, feel like giving us the long version?

It happened long ago, and might be best forgotten, but ... I can't resist, so ... {clicky}

Wow, that was pretty sad. I assume MoW doesn't hang around here much anymore.

Last post 8/26/02. He hasn't been seen around here for over three years.

Thanks.....But there has to be more to it. Sorry I missed that one, he seems like the kind of person that would enjoy posting with me http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...ies/tongue.gif

Sorry to see that you came up on his radar AT. But I guess you get this stuff a lot. You set a standard that is hard for most people to reach, and some of them just won't know how to deal with it.

Did anyone actually see any of MoW's shipsets?

Does "..." mean that you might point me to the next chapter?

MoW did earn himself one lasting piece of notoriety though: He coined a new phrase. From the Encyclopedia Malfadorica:
Quote:

Canon Cannon
The Canon Cannon is a mythical weapon of mass-destruction, a technological terror designed to smite those heretics who dare to trangress against the True Knowledge of Holy sci-fi Canon.

Various sci-fi shipsets and mods have been criticised in the past over how "canon" (ie how true to the "official" version of events, technologies, ship designs etc) they are. Someone whose hard work has been subjected to this kind criticism is said to have been shot with the Canon Cannon.

When fired upon ISPs and web-hosting services, the Canon Cannon has been known to destroy entire websites.

That "clicky" does bring back some hard feelings. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/mad.gif I should point out that many of the comments and email led to the redesign of most of my sets. Since then I have only gotten a couple of emails that can be classified as negative.

LOL, in retrospect, I wish I would have saved the emails I used to get from fan boys..... oh my God were some of those just out there!

One of the problem boys turned out to be a former friend of mine. A real jerk that I am happy to say I have not heard from since his incarceration a few years back.

I still get the occational Fan Boy hate mail, but for the most part I have been off their Radar for a good long time now. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif I guess they figured it out, SEIV is not Star Trek so to expect a true Star Trek game is something that cannot be done. OH but we tried though.

You should post them in a humorous database on your web site, for the enjoyment of all!
