Re: Keepin SEIII alive
Only by purchasing it. The shareware has no turn limits, just tech limits and no modding.

Re: Keepin SEIII alive
wow, I like the research in this game, from screenshots, I am guessing it is like this in SE5, also, it is weird having thegalaxy map larger than the sector map!

Re: Keepin SEIII alive
ahh, cant get my head around it, and not enough time to learn. I built some colony ships, figured out how to move them, then after one move, life support and crew quaters became damaged http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif im confused, and I quit!

Re: Keepin SEIII alive
You have to let them be built. Ships start with all components "damaged" in SE3. They do not take many turns to appear as they do in SE4. Build time depends on number of components rather than cost.

Re: Keepin SEIII alive
I believe that would be me.
I'm Blueoriontiger, administrator of Olympus Champion Shipyards. Sorry it took me a couple of weeks to get here and registered, but I was held up with pending projects. A lot of people are still interested in Space Empires III, but I made my site after I see sites slowly blinking off into oblivion, and whatever site exists have not been updated in over 5 years! I decided to rescue whatever shipsets I could, record their authors, and post them on my site, which I would continually update, make better, add more shipsets, and make sure that it wouldn't disappear, providing whatever remained of the SE3 community with a valuable resource. I update the site about once or more a week, and now I have made an SE3 forum, Olympus Champion Forums at Invisionfree. Almost anything imaginable about Space Empires III could be discussed there, including concepts about shipsets and such. Yes, I have SE3 conversions of all the stock SE4 races. I haven't had a chance to post them all yet, but they're there, and was made from help from Fyron, so that I could have a cool SE4 shipset before I got SE4. I have done that to several other races also from SE4 players, namely my biggest contributor, ISACommand. Kevin likes what I've done with them. Enough said, Space Empires III is a great game. I'm probably the only one actively trying to keep it alive. The title is our site slogan and motto, Keepin' SE3 Alive. AdmiralMartin helps me moderate Olympus Champion's site and forum, and makes changes when I'm unable to do so. He's a great partner, and have done some great SE3 co-op games against the computer. |

Hey, good to see you on the forums Blueoriontiger http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

Re: Keepin SEIII alive
I'd be happy to archive a copy of all the SE3 files and mods on my server as a backup in case something happens.
Fyron probably would too. |
Re: Keepin SEIII alive
How the heck can I get a copy of SEIII? I see no point in caring if it stays alive if I can't even play it.

Re: Keepin SEIII alive
The shareware version of SEIII can be downloaded directly from malfador.com. Getting a registration code costs $25 and can be ordered here or through a number of other options listed on the SE3 section of the Malfador site.
