So, no, if the rest of your armor is blown away with one shot, you don't get the emission. having only 5 EAC III is kind of lame though. One emissive armor used to be 20kT. I recomment at least 20 segments. If you're fighting meson bLaster enemies, I suggest replacing all shields with EAC, since you'll only take (35-30) 5 damage per hit http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/images/icons/icon7.gif With 20kT of EAC III, vs. 70 damage: 70-(6*5) leaves 40 damage & 6 dead EAC two more die to bring it to 30 damage & 8 dead EAC 30 emiss. Total: 40 damage, destroying 8 EAC. 30 damage cancelled. You only lost 40% of your 20kT armor, from a 70 point bLast. |

After some testing, I have come to the conclusion that the Emissive ability is totally FUBAR.
This stuff does not work, the Emissive ability is not even checked for after the first hit. http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/images/icons/icon8.gif (Armor/shields/PD/ECM) Armor is 25% of the Defencive techs in the game!!! Everybody e-mail MM and ask for an armor fix! It's so simple a problem, but it requires hardcode change! ARGGGH! [This message has been edited by suicide_junkie (edited 24 April 2001).] |
