Re: More questions...

don't forget remote mining depletes both asteroids and planets on percert per turn, so remote mining about continously drops off. across multiple mining sites the effect can be large.

You can also turn that off in settings.txt, although that is an AI exploit (I don't think the AI remote mines).

While you can have only one extraction ship per resource...

In a sector, only one mining ship, base, or satellite stack can be operable. Ships and bases can have as many mining comps of whatever type you like. You can not use multiple ships/bases under any circumstance, even if they are mining different resources. Only 3 satellites in a stack will function, one per resource, and IIRC only one mining comp on a satellite will count.

i dont think thats true. im pretty sure you can have a pure mineral base, and a pure organic base, and they will both operate. in any event, they will definitly both deplete the resources of the asteroid.

but if you have a mixed mineral/org base and an org base, only one will operate.

I've tried to use two bases before in that crazy FQM Proportions game; no dice. Only the first base mined anything when the second was completed, and they were each totally focused on a different type.

Only one depletes the resources, since only one can operate.
