Re: National Heroes

I have so far received two heroes for Pythium and both are pretty lame. One was a gladiator that wasn't any better than an emerald lord IIRC and the most recent was an old serpent rider who maybe in his heyday was as good as your typical serpent rider commander but since he had all the stat drops from being old he was worse in a lot of ways. The only thing he had was twice as much leadership. What's the point of heroes if they aren't, y'know, really cool. As it is now I don't feel lucky to get a hero beyond just the novelty factor.

Ah I see you haven't gotten Bart, Uber Mage yet. (Unless he's not that uber in dom III)

I got an assassin hero for late age man, and it is quite simply the strongest thing I've ever seen. He can solo a jountheim frost giant and come out without a scratch on him.

Has anyone seen any heroes for EA Ermor? I am only about 60 turns into my current game with them using default luck/misfortune (0) and have not seen any as yet.

Some of the national heroes have been cataloged up on the Wiki, but not too many. If you see one, post some teasers up there.

Wow, I can't wait until the wiki is more complete and has strategies/unit lists w. pictures/national heroes of every nation. The Arco strategy guide was awesome, and for guys like me who for some reason can't strategize very well in Dominions a fleshed out wiki would be an awesome resource.

Father Bart appears to be A2W2S3H4, 71-yr-old human (old age starting at 50...).

NB: The H4 can probably be considered a as it's the same H4 he had in D2, but Holy levels are supposed to have dropped.

I just checked Carmont, and he's F1S1H4 -- again, with the Holy level.

Pretty much same as with Dom2 - various mods were made to correct the situation, so that heroes seemed ... heroic, instead of a waste of upkeep. Give it a couple months, there'll probably be a Hero mod, and eventually a Conceptual Balance mod that incorporates the Hero mod (at least that's what happened with Dom2).
