Well my idea was to make this transparent; however, it did not work. This may be due to my lack of graphics skills or more likely it has something to do with the hard code. I thought it was a nifty idea but unless someone else can make it work it won't happen.

Not dumb at all, yes I did. The same that works on the flag backgrounds, etc.

Both, the pink is very lovely on the black background of space! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...ies/tongue.gif I also tried blue, WOW! You want to talk about a shock to the eyes. The Pink was subtle compared to the blue.

Well then something must be wrong then...if you see the pink, then it isnt the right code...

That's why I think SE5 is hard coded to take a certain area of the pic. I also beleive that area is a 19x19 pixel block. You see it didn't matter what I used everything showed up, pink, blue, or black. I know other areas are hard coded to display a background. Such as the Empire screen with the area behind the current production numbers.
