Re: Buggy interface

This just started happening to me in an MP game. The other 2 MP games work fine. Right click works for everything but provence selection. It doesn't crash to desktop, only to the main menu, like pressing the exit key.

I copied the dominions directory and removed mods then tried with the "clean" directory but no luck.

Any ideas?

You might bring up your mouse software and see if something has set the mouse right-click to esc or something like that.

Re: Buggy interface

I don't think it's the mouse since it works properly in two other MP games.

FAJ, have you found a fix?

Re: Buggy interface

This has happened to me as well. It started in turn 51 of a MP game (3.06), and is as described above - when I try to take my turn, using the right mouse button doesn't select a province, it triggers the end turn box (what would happen if you hit 'e'). Taking my turn in SP games, or in the 3 other MP games I'm playing, the mouse behaves normally. I can select a province normally by hitting "#" and putting in the province number, and once I've selected a province, I can use the RMB normally to select a commander, for example. I cannot use the RMB to select a province or move troops.

What I've tried - I'm running XP with a Logitech G5 mouse, and I've gone into the Logitech software to "reset defaults" in case there was some odd preference set - no help. I've tried deleting all local files for the MP game and redownloading the turn - no help. I tried going away on vacation for a few days - no help. I've checked the mouse settings under the control panel - nothing unusual, and again no help.

So, FAJ and Jay, it isn't just you. I think this may be a genuine bug.

JonathanCrane,

Not sure what happened but the problem just went away. I was playing the game where it accured and realized it was working again.

No idea...

Well, interesting.

I tried using a different computer (also XP) with a fresh install of 3.06 and the bug is preserved!

Re: Buggy interface

A bug report that vague is useless. We need to know more.

What kind of a glitch?
What happens?
How does it manifest?
Does it happen every time? Or only occasionally?
If occasionally, is there any kind of predictable pattern?
What sort of drivers do you have? Are they from the graphics card manufacturer and are they up to date?

Answering those questions, or most of them, will help narrow the issue down, if it is an issue at all. It could simply be something on your system, instead of a problem with the game. Even something as simple as not having an updated BIOS on the motherboard can create all sorts of problems, especially if parts of your system like the graphics card are much newer than the rest of it.

Am I right to assume you're replying to merlin82 above?

Do you need any additional information regarding the RMB bug that I reported above? I've emailed a description and a copy of the .trn and .2h files to info@illwinter, along with a description.

Thanks!
