It's not necessarily about energy. The last time they extended it a few weeks it was about industry (whoever sells grills, charcoal, etc.) wanting people to start the barbecue season early. To do that they needed more daylight after work, so Congress was lobbied to create more daylight after work.

I've seen claims that DST doesn't actually give a net savings of energy, either, but I don't have a link handy.

It especially makes no sense in Canada; it's dark in the winter no matter what you do with the clocks! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...ies/tongue.gif

My PC updated just fine. Didn't even bug me about it. I'm so proud of my little box for doing what it's supposed to all by it's self. *sniff* They grow up so fast!

My PC keeps wanting to apply some Msql something patch. It applies it, then MS update downloads it again and wants to install it again. Over and over and over and over and over and over and over again. Finally I just got PO'ed and turned it off.

I'll search for the link as well, but yeah it's been shown without a doubt that DST does pretty much nothing about what it was originally designed for.

The price per Barrel of oil comes down nearly $10.00 9 months ago, the price of gas takes a month to reflect that change, it lowers $0.10. Over six months it comes down $0.25 but in one day, fallowing a report that gas consumption is up, the price of gas goes from $2.65 a Gal to $3.20 a gallon. WTF!!!!!!! One DAY! And the Demo's won on the promise that they would stop this kind of price gouging. Yet they do nothing. Business as usual. We get lied to and and the politicians get rich off of the under the table deals they have going with the greedy oil companies. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif

I just love how the public has been convince that a car that gets 25 MPG is "awesome" when cars have been able to get that for over 40 years.

Just be carefully installing that Time Zone patch especially if you use Appointments in Outlook, because in past experience it will screw them up.
Also check carefully to see if you have to uninstall the patch afterwards, because for 1 Australian Daylight Saving Time Change Micro5oft made the change permanently instead of just for the 1 year.
