Re: Russian spec.force - exp and morale
The italian army was basically a conscript force for the entire Cold War and so were the germans (as previously noted), the swedes, the greeks and pretty much nearly everyone. The USA itself still relied on conscription to some extent till the early 70's.

Re: Russian spec.force - exp and morale
For example in Soviet Union / Russia recruits of armies had periodically training additional preparation (from one about several months).
It concerned as officers and private soldiers. Refusal of periodic preparation is punished by the law. |
Re: Russian spec.force - exp and morale
There's a difference between having conscripts in an army and having a conscript army. The dutch for example did have conscription but about 60% of the soldiers were professionals.

Re: Russian spec.force - exp and morale
In Vietnam (army of the USA) in the majority recruits just were at war.
Therefore there was such protest of the population of the USA against this war. Now against war in Iraq there are no same meetings as then as the army consists of volunteers - professionals. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif |
