Re: Tactics and Correct use of Scouts ?
Great answers, and this is growing to another great thread http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif I hope we can continue to discuss this subject and more people add their tactics and thoughts.
How about OP aircraft ? I've been using them a few times but they keep getting shot down by enemy AA. This means that you have to actually put those AAG out of commission before you can actually use the planes for you're advantage, however since AAG often are placed behind the lines you'll probably won't have much use of the planes in the beginning of battle at all. Anyone got any hints on using these ? |
Re: Tactics and Correct use of Scouts ?
Andy gave me some good advice on OP aircraft. Don't sent them over the enemy lines. Set you flight path along your front line. From there you should be able to spot moving vehicles or troops which are close to your own. I have been using this and it makes a real difference. Also make sure your flight path is from behind preferably at an angle and exit at a 90 degree angle so you exit behind your lines. For assault scenarios use smoke barrages to block line of sight of the AA batteries and as soon as you see them drop arty on them.

Youp, OP crafts are a really badass scouts when employed over own lines, esp. in defense/delay/meeting scenarios. Once the enemy starts to move, the eye in the sky will pick them up.
