I'm not too put out that Harrison Ford is reprising his role as Indy. In fact, I'd probably be quite annoyed if they cast anyone but Harrison in the role. He may be old, but he's still the only Indiana Jones.

I've no problem with the casting, even Sean Connery as his father, but the last Indy movie (with Ford & Connery) I found to be h o r r e n d o u s . . . (not because of the main actors, but because of the plot, script, action choreography... yeesh).

I saw teh trailer Saturday, and even though Harrison Ford looks much the worse for wear, I'll be in line on May 22nd. I've been waiting a long time. I just hope it's worth the wait. But if HF is in his 60's now, they need to get out of pre-WWII. The villainous (?) looks like she might be Russian. Anyone have any ideas of what era we're looking at?

Yes. I thought it paled in comparison to Raiders of the Lost Ark, which I actually enjoyed, but I didn't despise it.

The one I meant was "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade", which I thought was far worse.

...

But there were 5-6 years between me seeing those IIRC, and I've not seen either since about the time they came out, so maybe they both are horrendous. I see the IMDB rating for Temple o' Doom is actually lower, but if Last Crusade gets an 8 there... er, clearly it's not a reflection of my tastes.

You might want to refresh your memory on Temple. Sure it has a few moments of goodness - going for the revolver like in the first movie and a few others, but the female lead (Mrs. Spielberg) is irritating beyond all belief. I mean they're going after glowing potatoes.
