Thanks. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

I just created a spiral galaxy with over a 1000 stars. The scope of this game is huge. It lacks a lot of the features that SE IV and V have though. All though I do like how many of its features are implemented over SE IV. (Better UI)

The game currently lacks all the management tools that SE IV and V have like planet sorting, fleet sorting, etc. Construction can only take place one item at a time. So that seriously limits the game. It was turn 300 before I had 10 planets colonized.

The Tech tree is extremely time expensive. I bet it would take over 10,000 turns to go through it.

All in all I think they have a good game here. I really wish Aaron would have used some of these concepts for SE V. Perhaps it would have turned out to be a far more addictive game had he done so.

Oh, no, no, no. I've got no time for a quality new space strategy game.

Someone post the problems, 'k?

I tried this a few years ago, but it was rather incomplete. Have they gotten ship design in yet?

I downloaded version 0.3.8 from sourceforge.net I can send you the version I have? Also I think you need Netframe 2.0 or something from MS to run it. Not sure.

See this is the kind of game that Shrapnel needs to get developed by a private developer and then sell. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif Since a great deal of the work has already been done it won't take much to "modify" the files to make a new game out it unique enough to not be the same game.
