Sure, as long as you don't put on any googaws that run in the background. As a PC tech, I've been asked many times to figure out why someone's PC is running, and it's usually the dozen things they installed that launch on bootup. I usually just get rid of all that crap (though it gets trickier when it launches from the registry...). http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/images/icons/icon6.gif

Oh yeah, also defrag and scandisk your hard drive regularly (which can be scheduled), clean out your temp files occasionally, turn off active desktop (pointless in my opinion), and don't look at your PC funny. They may be "just" machines, but they're still persnickety....
