Nice idea, but I don't think that this will replace the IRC channel for things concerning Dom3. It might be a good place to hook up with somebody on this forum that you want to talk with, though, to be able to meet each other in there.

For those that really struggled to find this Flashchat thing like I did, which is hidden away and not as visible as other things in the top bar: You can access the chat by clicking on "Quick Links", then "Flashchat" which is the fifth link from the top or so.

Its nice to have an alternative.
Some people have not been all that thrilled with our present Dominions 3 IRC channel.

Re: New Feature: FlashChat

The biggest hurdle is usually that they have to install an IRC client if they're not using IRC already - which in general is very advisable to get in touch with others, be it for development, support or leisure. On the other hand, that's a boon, too, because everybody can pick the client that HE likes.

I'm with the crowd that says that Flash is an abomination which never should play the role for things like online videos etc. like it does today. Die die die! Unfortunately, there are no real easy to setup alternatives at the moment. :(

True enough.
But I was referring to the IRC crowd itself. Ive sent many people to it and in general it seems that few like it there. Maybe this will create a place with a different feel to it.
