Re: Should LA Mictlan get access to LA Atlantian submarine units?
well I agree with Zeldor, Mictlan doesn't need the boost, thejeff has a point but still I think most games will remain w/o r'lyeh and then you'd just ahve a more overpowered mictlan, now WITH an underwater base (assuming they take it somewhere in the game) where you really can't kick them out easily even if an alliances get's them on the land

Re: Should LA Mictlan get access to LA Atlantian submarine units?
I don't think they ought to get great troops underwater, or even any troops at all, but maybe a handful of "convenience" commanders. Possibly starting elderly.

Re: Should LA Mictlan get access to LA Atlantian submarine units?
I think something pretty basic (no elite or sacred troops, commanders no better than land-based ones) but immune to R'lyeh insanity domain sounds about right to me.

Re: Should LA Mictlan get access to LA Atlantian submarine units?
I don't see why they wouldn't find the same Atlantians that regular Atlantis finds (i.e. resistance to insanity), but I also think that the Rain Kings would probably demand some cultural concessions in order to integrate into their empire. Easy enough of an excuse to have their underwater units be different (and weaker) than Atlantis's.

Re: Should LA Mictlan get access to LA Atlantian submarine units?
For one thing, the underwater units of LA Atlantis live in the frigid north (or south) oceans, which is a much different environment than the warm waters of LA Mictlan--hypothetically, ofcourse.
So it's reasonable that their underwater troops would be markedly different from LA Atlantis's. |
Re: Should LA Mictlan get access to LA Atlantian submarine units?
If Mesoamerican mythology features some aquatic creatures it would be a nice opportunity to include them in LA Mictlan.
