Just a quick comment on transports. Transport groups are scheduled as reinforcements 1, 2 or 3 at a time (depending on which side and what phase of the war). Once you get a transport group, the next group won't be scheduled until you've used that one, so you won't see all of them displayed on the Reinforcement schedule, just the next two or three. It also means you can't horde them. You'll want to use them pretty soon after they show up.
Alesjes has it right, the bottleneck is really the landing craft and troop transports, which is why the next amphibious group can't be added to the reinforcement list until you've used one of your existing ones (thus freeing up the ships to go back to the home port and start loading the next batch of troops and supplies). Thats fine and it makes sense. But I had used all the Amphibs assigned to me and I never received any more. The last was used in about mid 43 and that was it till the game ended in early 45.
FWIW, I believe the last one was a failed mission rather than a success or lost unit. Could it be a bug that if the unit doesnt actually get USED, you dont generate more? Again, I have the save game from earlier if it helps. |

The Ai was not copnstrained in this way. I noticed that the Americans in 1943/44 (can't remember which) had something like 8 invasion forces sitting on the West Coast. Luckily I had absolutely smashed the Allied fleet and so they couldn't hope to invade anywhere.

I also had a bug where I owned all three of the island groups necessary to cut the line of communication with Austraila and yet the status didn't change to orange or count down.
