yeah, you got some vp for controlling the norwegian sea (or whatever), or perhaps the axis got vp for interdicting it... hard to remember exactly :)

Warsaw pact alt history probably does have less appeal now; esp. as really their capabilities were so much lower than NATO's (see: Yak-38, lol).

WWII med would seem to offer the tightest battle, given Axis land-based air, and possible historical variants, such as bringing Spain or Turkey in.
