Fantomen, it should display 3.22, not 3.21, if you patched your Mac. Also, the crash likely stems from a problem with CBM. It exceeds the maximum number of 499 ingame items.

Right you are, it says 3.22. I confused it with the unpatched backup I made.

But the problems remain though, and 3.22 is still not 3.23

Yep the games are CBM. Did they add new items in the patch or what?

Anyway the new turns crashes the unpatched (3.21) app as well.

And you're positive that the crash on 3.21 isn't because of a version conflict? It would surprise me a little, but then the problem might be that the size of the memory footprint for the item structs has been altered in 3.23. If the item data would somehow be saved in the turn files, instead of just an ID number or name, this could trigger the error. It would open up a plethora of cheating possibilities with items, too.

Not at all. I´d rather guess both crashes are version conflicts.
